La Pandera is one of La Vuelta's cruellest finishes: a narrow, brutally steep road with ramps well into double figures, on a surface that has broken plenty of contenders before. Expect the race for red to be turned upside down here.
Stage favourites
Stage 14 (Jaén → Sierra de la Pandera, 154.5 km) is a mountain stage with 4,060 m of cumulative climbing — one of the race's queen stages. Pure climbers capable of sustaining high power output on long ascents are the ones to watch.
⚡ The real race begins on the final climb. Any rider distanced before the summit will lose significant time on GC rivals.
