Stage preview

Getting into a breakaway here will come at a price: 3,300 m of climbing through the Correze. The irregular ascent to Suc-au-May and the attack on Mont Bessou should do the sorting, leaving 25 rolling kilometres into Ussel for whoever survives.

Stage favourites

Stage 9 (Malemort → Ussel, 185.5 km) is a hilly stage with 2,427 m of cumulative climbing. Puncheurs who can follow explosive accelerations on short, steep climbs will have the edge over flat-out sprinters.

Watch for lone attacks on the final climb, or a reduced sprint between a small group of survivors off the last ascent.
