Stage preview

The first stage entirely on Spanish soil runs through the Catalan interior from the wine country of Falset down towards the Ebro delta. A hilly, nervous day where the breakaway has a genuine chance — and the last day to lock in your jersey predictions.

Stage favourites

Stage 5 (Falset → Roquetes, 173.3 km) is a hilly stage with 1,659 m of cumulative climbing. Puncheurs who can follow explosive accelerations on short, steep climbs will have the edge over flat-out sprinters.

Watch for lone attacks on the final climb, or a reduced sprint between a small group of survivors off the last ascent.
