Stage preview

A genuine GC-shaping mountain stage. It opens with the brutal Col de la Croisette on the Saleve (nearly 5 km at 11.2%) and finishes on a narrow road through the villages of the Bornes massif up to the Plateau de Solaison (11.3 km at 9.1%) -- a real launchpad for the overall standings.

Stage favourites

Stage 15 (Champagnole → Plateau de Solaison, 183.9 km) is a mountain stage with 4,701 m of cumulative climbing — one of the race's queen stages. Pure climbers capable of sustaining high power output on long ascents are the ones to watch.

The real race begins on the final climb. Any rider distanced before the summit will lose significant time on GC rivals.
