Stage preview

From Tarragona, a UNESCO World Heritage city, the route hugs the coast past Sitges before turning inland and tougher from Begues onward. The finish is a Barcelona circuit with three climbs of Montjuic castle (1.6 km at 13%) -- the same uphill finish as the day before.

Stage favourites

Stage 2 (Tarragona → Barcelona, 168.5 km) is a hilly stage with 2,391 m of cumulative climbing. Puncheurs who can follow explosive accelerations on short, steep climbs will have the edge over flat-out sprinters.
